Disney's Live-Action Movies

With the new sequel coming up in December I decided to make a thread about the movies.

Me being a huge gamer of course I am going to like the concept of Tron. Like I said in the underrated live action films thread, Tron doesn't seem to get enough recognition beyond its special effects. Yeah, the story at times isn't that engaging and it can get cheesy, but think of movies like The Matrix that involves fighting a digital evil inside of a computer world, or the concept of being sucked into a video game. How many films like that there were before this movie was made? Probably some, but few as effective as Tron.

Regarding the new Tron sequel, I can't wait to see it. My only peeve is that the movie looks too dark. The iconic neon look is too muted, and I wish the movie would have had more color rather than going with the modern look nearly every video game has nowadays. But the story should be interesting.

I saw this film a few months ago for the first time and I adored it.

The concept was great. It was like The Wizard of Oz meets 2001: A Space Odyssey. The story did get rather muddled in by the 3rd act, it was still fun. Outside of the visuals(which I argue would still work) I don't find it dated as others do. It held up quite well imo. And of course, any movie with The Dude(Jeff Bridges) is fine by me.

As for the sequel, I'm not really not that interested in seeing another father and son story(seen enough of those in my life) I'm still somewhat interested to see how it all turns out. I hope its a huge success just so it can encourage Disney to take more risks and to give more attention to their lesser-praised past films for the future.

Saw Tron: Legacy a week ago and I thought it was visually stunning and I loved the music. The story was a little weak but overall a good movie!
