Recently, I came across this Disney Parks video about Angelica (from "Stranger Tides") being a new walk around character at the parks:

See, the video hypes Angelica as being a MAJOR female character in the franchise. But, what about Elizabeth?
Granted, in the first movie she was a damsel in distress, and spent her time either being haunted by the cursed pirates or being harassed by Jack. But in the second and third movie she evolved from damsel into a capable fighter, and by the end of the original trilogy she had become queen of the pirates, led several attacks against the enemy and more! Love her or hate her, she IS a major female character in the franchise.
So why is Angelica now getting all the attention as a female pirate? What are your thoughts?

Pap - I read (and saw on You Tube) the new Anjelica...and I thought the SAME THING! What about Will and Elizabeth? I guess Disney missed the opportunity with those characters, but with this new Trilogy starting - Anjelica will be reoccuring and they don't want to "miss the boat" (read: SHIP) again!
Just my 2 cents...

I think the biggest reason is that she is the daughter of the feared Blackbeard, they are really trying to push that on people. I personally will miss Elizabeth Swan, she was my first pirate crush lol

You're right about the director. Rob Marshal is directing this new POTC. I hope it is as good as the other 3...but you know, with my boyfriend, Johnny in the lead - it really doesn't matter who the director is! hehehe
