I love the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy but The Curse of the Black Pearl is my favorite. I am excited to see what they come up with for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides which is coming out next May.

The Curse of the Black Pearl is easily the best in my opinion. There are some VERY cool references to the films on Walt Disney World's Pirates of the Caribbean attraction (and gift shop).

I personally love the first two movies the best. Curse of the Black Pearl had a basic but engaging story filled with great, charismatic characters. The second one wasn't as good I admit, but I still love it simply because of its sheer grandness and sense of fun and epic only seen in movies of the golden age.
The third one I liked, but yeah, the story was very convoluted, there are some plot holes, scenes never fully explained and it was messy. The ending, however, was great if only for the sheer spectacle.
I hope the producers learned their lesson from At World's End and focus more on grand adventure rather than messy politics talk with the fourth movie.
